The purpose of the Elite program is to establish a competitive program within Mt. Diablo Soccer, thus increasing the retention of Mt. Diablo Soccer players who are looking to play at a higher level. The Elite teams will be established with the goal of continued player development in a competitive atmosphere. The intent is to provide the player with a higher level training regimen as well as playing against stronger competition. The Elite teams will follow AYSO philosophy that each player will have at least 50% playing time.
Within the Elite program, every coach, referee and administrator will continue to be responsible for adhering to the six basic principles of the AYSO philosophy: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Positive Coaching, Open Registration, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.
The season will run from June 1-November. Divisions with high school age players will end prior to the start of the North Coast Section Winter season and the younger age groups may continue until the end of November. Each team travels within their area for the season with more extensive traveling required as tournaments become available. Mt. Diablo Soccer Elite program is a member of US Club Soccer, which will allow Elite teams the opportunity to compete in a broader range of tournaments.
Mt. Diablo Soccer Elite program will sponsor tryouts (see below for dates) for each age group to allow the Selection Committee to evaluate players. Established AYSO coaches interested in competing at a higher level are encouraged to apply. See top of this page for the links to the applications.
